DocSpera
Avanos In production Pain management device OEM

Avanos launched SurgiCheck on DocSpera to follow every patient through the first week after surgery.

Patients enroll by scanning a QR code at the practice, then get a short, clinic-branded check-in each day by text or email. It asks about pain, opioid use and satisfaction with their pain management, and opioid doses are normalized to morphine milligram equivalents.

Surgeons and clinic staff track each patient’s progress in a provider dashboard, and aggregated metrics compare recovery by therapy, procedure, surgeon and timeframe. Avanos field and territory teams get their own role-based view, which makes SurgiCheck a working device-partner application on the platform. Staff also get an AI help assistant with guardrails tested by an automated evaluation suite.

Avanos markets SurgiCheck publicly as built in partnership with DocSpera.
