DocSpera
For medical device companies

Extend your device into
a digital platform

Engage the patients who receive your device, give surgeons insight from every case, see demand weeks ahead to win in the ASC, and connect to every practice, EHR and PACS without an interface project. Device companies already ship their own branded products on DocSpera.

01 · Patient-facing

Stay with every patient before and after the procedure

Your device’s outcomes depend on what happens outside the OR. DocSpera runs branded patient programs for device companies: enrollment, daily check-ins, care plans and outcome surveys, with the surgeon’s practice front and center.

Branded post-op check-ins

Avanos SurgiCheck enrolls patients by QR code and checks in daily by text or email on pain, opioid use and satisfaction, normalized to morphine milligram equivalents.

Care plans and PROMs

VELYS Patient Path delivers education, exercises, tasks and KOOS JR, HOOS JR and ASES surveys, with wound photos and high-pain alerts back to the care team.

AI by text, a person one reply away

An AI agent answers questions from the patient’s own appointment, confirms and reschedules, and hands off to staff with context.

Production code

Tap through the daily check-in the way a patient would.

02 · Surgeon-facing

Give surgeons insight from every case

Surgeons adopt and stay with a device when it makes them better. DocSpera turns device and case data into a surgeon’s own analytics, ties them to their patients’ outcomes, and keeps their referral backlog moving.

Case analytics from the device

Surgeons upload robot case data and see alignment, soft-tissue balance, resections and time in each workflow step, compared against their earlier cases.

Outcomes next to technique

Patient-reported outcomes and recovery progress sit beside the surgeon’s own case data, by procedure and timeframe.

A backlog ranked by readiness

Referrals are prioritized by urgency and readiness, so the right patients reach surgery first and fewer cases cancel.

03 · ASC targeting

Win the ASC with advance notice of every case

Procedures are moving to ambulatory surgery centers, which have little room to store consigned inventory and limited sterilization capacity. Advanced Case Management gives your teams an early demand signal for every scheduled case, so you send right-sized sets just in time instead of full trays days ahead.

A demand signal weeks ahead

When a participating practice schedules a surgery, the case reaches your teams with surgeon, site, procedure and laterality, weeks before the date instead of days.

Ready for planning

Imaging, templated images and patient height and weight travel with the case, and an operations dashboard flags anything missing and resends updates.

Built on the surgeon’s own schedule

The signal starts where the practice already works. Surgeons and schedulers see upcoming cases in their DocSpera daily and weekly schedule, with PACS imaging and implant templates attached in each case’s DocBox.

Right-sized trays for tight spaces

Knowing exactly what each case needs, you ship fewer trays, closer to the date. The ASC stores less, sterilizes less and turns rooms faster.

The provider side

Where the demand signal starts: the surgeon’s schedule

Every case a device partner sees in advance is a real booking in the practice’s DocSpera schedule. Surgeons and their teams see upcoming surgeries in the daily and weekly schedule, and open each case’s DocBox for PACS studies, the implant template, and the paperwork, all in one place.

Open a surgery to see its DocBox, then go to Files and select the template or an imaging study to preview it.

04 · Integration

Connect to every practice without an interface project

Excelsior, DocSpera’s managed integration engine, connects to the practices and hospitals where your device is used: HL7 feeds, EHRs, PACS and partner systems, normalized into one canonical contract your programs build on.

HL7, FHIR, files and APIs

VPN or TLS HL7 v2 feeds, SFTP file drops, FHIR R4 bundles and partner APIs. A new site is configuration, not an engineering project.

Imaging delivered for planning

For robotic and patient-specific cases, the platform finds each case’s studies in PACS, de-identifies them and delivers them to the planning partner, with exceptions worked from a balanced queue.

Open contracts

Published, versioned contracts and a certification suite let your own teams and partners build on the platform without forking it.
